Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Ngorongoro Conservation Area: The Serengeti National Park formerly included the Ngorongoro Crater. The area of Arusha, in northern Tanzania, is 8,292 square kilometers, not far from the Kenyan border. It became a conservation area in 1959 after being cut off from the national park. The Ngorongoro crater, the largest inactive caldera in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the main feature to keep an eye out for.

Most visitors combine a trip to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a safari in the Serengeti National Park.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the finest place to spot the most famous mammals like the big five but also other animals. Several bird species can also be spotted in Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Other attractions and sites to visit include; the Empakaai crater, Lerai Fever Tree Forest, Lake Magadi, a tour of Olduvai Gorge, olmoti crater.
